An Invitation to the "Upper Room

The Upper Room is a gathering of people who are interested in spirituality in its broadest sense.
Most speakers will talk about an aspect of Christianity or spirituality, and each
is prepared to engage in dialogue with those attending.
The meal starts at 6.00 p.m. the speaker usually starts around 7.30 p.m. The talk is followed by a brief discussion, and the event closes at around 9 p.m.
You may come for a meal, or just dessert or coffee, from the menu. Most come at 6.00 p.m. for a meal, others join in shortly before the speaker and perhaps have a glass of wine or a coffee.
You are most welcome to come and we suggest that you to put the dates below into your diary. We ask you to assist the catering, if convenient, by advising the Parish Office by the Thursday prior to the first Tuesday of the month, by phoning 9696 5116 or emailing officeap@optusnet.com.au.

Dr. Rob West is an ophthalmic surgeon based in Melbourne. During the last five years he has
made yearly visits to the St. John Eye Hospital to work in East Jerusalem tanf the West Bank.
His talk fill touch on the St. John Eye Hospital, current challenges and the social and political
environment of the Occupied Territories.
