The Parish of the Parks Welfare Program

Every Sunday evening at 5 p.m. we open our Church Hall to the folk of Melbourne for a two-course meal. All are made welcome.

This is an important feature of our community mission action at St Silas'.

We also offer food parcels to  needy residents of Port Phillip  on the first  Tuesday of the month, 10 a.m to noon. (identification as Port Phillip resident with concession card is required for food parcels).

On average, 60 to 80 people, some of whom are homeless, make use of this community service. They enjoy the food and the contact with each other and our team.

A team of volunteers prepares, serves and cleans up afterwards. It is rewarding service, and we would welcome your support, as we are always looking for more volunteers to take a turn on the roster. About half of our volunteers are parishioners, others are from the local community, and several come from outside the area to make their contribution to this well-received service.

Financial donations to the Sunday Suppers program are also welcome, and are tax deductible through the Melbourne Anglican Benevolent Society.  Click here for Sunday Suppers Contribution Form

To donate contact Church Office on 9696 5116 or email us at officeap@optusnet.com.au

New volunteers are always welcome, and very much appreciated :
